Backlog readiness

Pressure-Test Work
Before You Commit.

Stream Central helps teams find oversized scope, missing acceptance criteria, weak motivation, and incomplete context—then carry the plan and standards into the IDE.

What Breaks Sprint Predictability

Oversized items sneak into the sprint

Split risks surface after commitment instead of during refinement.

Acceptance criteria are incomplete

Teams discover missing edge cases and unclear done-when statements mid-build.

Motivation and evidence are missing

Engineers inherit tickets without the stakeholder signal or decision that justified them.

Implementation context stays in the browser

Plans, standards, and architecture principles never arrive together in the IDE.

The Readiness-to-Code Workflow

One continuous path from evidence-aware refinement to developer handoff.

Attach evidence

Link feedback, demo reviews, or storyboard signal so the why stays with the work.

Run readiness review

Use advisory checks and AI-assisted review to surface split risks and missing context.

Refine before planning

Improve acceptance criteria, decompose oversized work, and clarify dependencies.

Hand off to the IDE

Deliver plan, readiness findings, standards, and architecture principles to VS Code or Cursor.

What You Get In This Workflow

Advisory readiness reviews

Deterministic checks and optional AI review help teams see readiness gaps before planning. Reviews advise; they do not silently block sprint commitment.

Split detection & decomposition support

Surface oversized work earlier and use AI-assisted decomposition suggestions during grooming.

Evidence and decision context

Keep stakeholder feedback and structured decisions linked to the work so refinement preserves the why.

IDE and agent handoff

Carry plans, readiness findings, implementation standards, and architecture principles into VS Code, Cursor, and coding agents.

Readiness reviews are advisory. Evidence-to-work transitions are governed by your team. Completion and delivery history depend on Stream Central lifecycle data. Optional connectors use exact verbs such as import, link, create, or update.

Readiness FAQ

Does readiness block sprint commitment automatically?

No. Readiness reviews are advisory. They help teams see risks before planning; they do not currently enforce a hard gate on sprint commitment.

How does AI assist with grooming?

AI can support readiness review, decomposition suggestions, and related grooming assistance. Teams remain accountable for the final decision to commit work.

What reaches the IDE?

Through the VS Code / Cursor extension, teams can download plans, include readiness findings in agent handoff, export implementation standards, and mark work complete back in Stream Central.

Does Stream Central replace our planning or tracking tools?

No. Stream Central adds backlog readiness, evidence context, and developer handoff around the work your team already manages. It is not positioned as a tracker replacement.
